Tips and Tricks for Packing Wedges and High Heels in Your Carry-On

This is a follow-up to the Pack Like a Pro: The Ultimate Guide to Packing for a 5-Day Trip Using Carry-On Luggage

Friends, let’s face it – packing your favorite wedges and high heels in your carry-on luggage can be a bit of a challenge. But don’t stress, I’ve got some tips and tricks to help you pack like a pro and slay on the go!

1. Choose Your Shoes Wisely

Before you even start packing, it’s important to choose the right shoes. When it comes to packing wedges and high heels, you want to choose shoes that are versatile and can be worn with multiple outfits. Instead of packing a different pair of shoes for every outfit, try to choose one or two pairs that can be dressed up or down.

2. Pack Strategically

When packing your shoes, it’s important to pack strategically. Start by stuffing your shoes with small items like socks or underwear to help them keep their shape. Another option is wrapping them in tissue paper or a soft cloth to prevent scuffs and scratches.

3. Use a Shoe Bag

If you’re worried about your shoes getting dirty or scuffed, consider using a shoe bag. They are perfect for keeping your shoes separate so they don’t rub against other items in your bag. Many high-end shoe brands come with a shoe bag when you purchase them so keep those handy if you happen to get them. You can also purchase them. In the video I’m using fabric shoe bags because they’re washable, last longer, and save me more money in the long run. I’ve had these for years but you can literally use whatever your shoes will fit in.

4. Wear Your Heaviest Pair of Shoes

If you’re really tight on space in your carry-on luggage, consider wearing your heaviest pair of shoes on the plane. Not only will this save you some space in your bag, but it will also keep your feet warm on a chilly airplane. Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes that won’t hurt your feet during a long flight.

5. Make Use of Dead Space

When packing your carry-on bag, look for dead space that you can use to pack your shoes. For example, if you’re packing a hat or a jacket, stuff it with small items like socks or underwear and then pack your shoes inside. This will help maximize the space in your bag and keep your shoes from getting crushed.

6. Choose Your Outfits Wisely

Another way to save space in your carry-on luggage is to choose your outfits wisely. Instead of packing a different outfit for every day, try to pack items that can be mixed and matched. This will not only save you space in your bag, but it will also give you more outfit options.

Packing your favorite wedges and high heels in your carry-on luggage doesn’t have to be a nightmare. With a little bit of planning and these tips, you can pack like a pro and look fabulous on your next trip. So go ahead, slay on the go!
